MORONG, Bataan – Mayor Jorge S. Estanislao assures the support of the Municipal Government of Morong to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan in the conduct of the POPCEN 2015 during his meeting with Interim Provincial Statistics Officer Ledesma L. Morante at Morong Municipal Hall, Morong Bataan last July 31, 2015.
Mayor Estanislao, earlier expressed his hope to maximize the use of technology in the census taking when he presided to convening of the Municipal Census and Coordination Board of Morong. This desire is in the light of slow growth of the municipality, particularly in population. He wishes to address previous problem in order for them to get the expected count this census taking.
This POPCEN 2015, his support is very evident with his presence during the 4th Level Training at the Morong Municipal Hall from July 27 to August 1, 2015. The Municipal Government of Morong also provided tarpaulins to all barangay as information campaign.
Also present during the meeting are PSA staff Jose T. Cumagun and Reynaldo Caparas and Municipal Civil Registrar Angelina Valdez-Vigo. There are 5 Team Supervisors and 20 Enumerators hired to ensure complete enumeration in the municipality, especially in the mountainous and less accessible areas. Delsy Nunez is the hired Census Area Supervisor to oversee the field operation.
The questions: P1 – Name of the household member; P2 – Relationship to the household head; P3 – Sex; P4 – Date of birth; P5 – Age; P6 – Whether a member’s birth was registered at the LCR Office; P7 – Copy of birth certificate; P8 – Marital status; and P9 – Religious affiliation, are to asked for all persons.
The ongoing POPCEN 2015 is the 14th census of population in the country since the first census in 1903. Moreover, the POPCEN 2015 it is the 3rd population census conducted in between two decennial censuses. Previous to POPCEN 2015, mid-decade censuses were carried out in 1995 and 2007.
